Hekate Tribute Charity Event
Hosted by the Jade Cat & the Ravel
In honor of a dear friend and a fellow Warrior of Light who has returned to the star for the next part of their journey, we want to give to their legacy by hosting a charity event dedicated to their life. Join us in celebrating their life and consider donating to either the charity we've chosen or to the family.
Locations: Wednesday will be at the Jade Cat (Emp W6P32) and Thursday will be at the Ravel (Lav W13P9). Both are on Malboro in Crystal DC
Date & Time: Wednesday & Thursday, October 9 & 10 from 7pm-11pm EST both days
We ask that all participants wear white, yellow, or purple (or a combination of the three).White to symbolize new beginnings in the new chapter of their soul's journey/
Yellow for Sarcoma awareness.
And purple just cause it was their favorite color.
Note: Site is still a WIP but all links should be live.

➼ Plum Paper parasolWhile to some it may look like an ordinary cottage in the middle of the Lavendar Beds, the Ravel holds a secret. Whisper 'Scree' into one of the bookshelves and they may open for you, either to other areas (private rooms) or to a staircase leading to a hidden speakeasy. Enjoy delicious drinks and bar food paired with some live music. As with Day 1 of this event, seek out those with green LFP tags for tarot readings.While Room 1 is a simple bedroom, 3 & 4 were designed by the infamous Hekate themselves, a trip into another world and a small church to a certain great serpent. Raffle
As our main FC, Scree's Chosen Ones and the Ravel double as a cult to tthe Great Serpent of Ronka, we will be hosting a raffle for the Golden Ronkan Flute. Results will be drawn Thursday night an hour before closing. (10 pm EST)Tickets will be 25k each or 5 for 100k. While donation to either the charity or the GoFundMe is not required, I will be checking names on the charity page and any character names I see for donations will get 2 tickets added to their name. If you donate to the family's GoFundMe instead or wish to remain anonymous on either donation site, if you DM me (@KennyraeWolf on discord) a screenshot that confirms your donation (just need a confirmation image of "Thank you for donating X! A confirmation receipt will be sent to your email" - I won't share your image ofc, but you're free to black out any identifying info in the screenshot)NOTE: If you win the Golden Scree but are not present when your name is called should you win, you will be contacted via Discord and have until 12pm EST Friday (Oct 11) to pick it up and claim it. If you do not claim it by then, it will be rerolled for a new winner.Smaller prizes will be raffled off as well once the grand prize is called, and if you are not present for a small win, it will be re-rolled immediately.
About
On September 11, 2024, Tarot Leblanc, also known as Hekate Apothecare or Kyali Maru in the Final Fantasy XIV community passed away from Stage IV Sarcoma cancer. To honor them, we will be hosting a charity event to raise money and awareness for sarcoma-related charities. This year, we will be donating to Sarcoma-Oma, a charity started in 2015 after a family member of the charity founders passed away from liposarcoma. While less established in comparison to other related charities, I believe this one would be a good first charity to donate to should we make this an annual event.Hekate was an amazing person, friend, and mentor to many who was always unapologetically themselves. They struggled in a world that didn't always accept them for choosing to be nonbinary, but they pressed forward no matter what obstacles they faced, whether due to their gender or anything else they can across. They were always willing to lend a helping hand, especially to those they called friends, always going above and beyond whenever possible. They were a talented artist, both in traditional and digital media, author, and a skilled tarot reader. They were wise beyond their years and were taken from us too soon at the age of 27.But death is not permanent end, merely an end to a new beginning to a new chapter in Hekate's life that we will all someday follow, when we, too, pass on and return to the star, whatever lies beyond. What we have right now is the time spent with friends, family, blood or no, and those we hold dear, to make every moment count, and to take care of ourselves to the best of our ability. Life will always through us curveballs - physically or emotionally, but if we can find comfort and joy in the small things, the people, pets, and things that give even the tiniest boost of serotonin, that makes it worth it and the hard times more bearable.
